Violation of library rules include the following offenses:
- failure to notify library of change of address
- failure to pay fines, failure to check out computer appropriately
- failure to pay printing costs
- leaving children under the age of 7 unattended in the library or under 12 alone on library property after closing
- disrupting service to other patrons
- stealing, destruction of library property
- unauthorized alterations to the computer
- obscenity (either verbal or deliberately brought up on a computer screen)
- or threatening or abusive behavior towards library staff
No patron may check out materials if an unpaid fine of $5 or more exists. Patrons who break library rules may lose their privileges or be put on probation. Patrons under restriction of any kind may use materials or computers in-house, if the nature of the offense does not include abuse of public property, disruption of other patrons, or computer infractions.
