Winter Reading Program

Escape the cold this winter and snuggle up with a book!

For book lovers, there’s not much better than curling up with a good book, blanket and a cup of tea on a cold winter night or day. And because the winter can sometimes seem like it will never end, the Lamar Public Library is going to celebrate staying in with a Winter Reading Challenge!

It’s really easy —

You don’t need to register to start this reading program!  Stop by the library and pick up a reading log. The first time you bring in a log, we’ll just add your name to our records and start recording your logs.  Easy as pie!

The program is open to all ages!

You can read anything you’d like – as long as you’re reading, it counts!

Reading Logs

Win Prizes for Reading

Each reading log is worth FOUR HOURS of reading. Readers keep track of total number of hours read.

We ask that the parent or day care provider sign the reading log to certify that the participant has indeed read that amount of time.

Only completed reading logs may be turned in. Turn in the reading logs to a librarian at the circulation desk!

When you turn in a completed reading log, you get to pick a prize out of our library treasure chest!

Read, Read, Read!!

Library staff and/or volunteers may on occasion ask readers about the books they have read.

All reading logs must be turned in by January 15th.

We have set a total goal of 1,000 hours read!

Winter Reading Raffle

At the end of the Winter Reading Program, all the completed reading logs will be placed in a raffle.

The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

You can also click and print the reading log here to fill out and turn in at the library.
